For the fourth year in a row Tim Redus of Vertex Cycling will be organizing racing trips to Belgium for Youth (Nieuwlingen) Junior, and U23 racers.
Tim’s programs are all inclusive from fully organized race days, home cooked dinners, sight seeing trips, to airport transportation to and from Brussels, and best of all require no selection criteria! Which means that if you have the drive to race in Belgium, you have the same opportunity as any other cyclist to join one of the Vertex Cycling’s racing trips.

Tim has just announced details for the first trip available for 2013 from March 1st – March 18th open to riders 15 – 18 years of age, so be sure to check out the Vertex Cycling website for more details (we hear that there will be further details added shortly as well).  Racing kermis’ in Belgium is one of the best ways for you to improve as a rider, and learn all you can about bike racing and perhaps even yourself in the process. But enough from us, here are a few words from some past Vertex guests…

Tim’s trips are really all about development. Bike racing in Belgium is not easy–that’s why Americans go over there. The trips are great because you can get multiple races in one week, shortening the learning curve with insight from him and former pro Gregg Germer. In fact, many of the things you learn are off the bike. Sit down discussions about racing tactics and strategies that help you figure out what works for your strengths is really what it is all about. Many people get dropped in their first race there and leave with several top tens–myself included. There is also a huge educational component off the bike, learning about history with trips to nearby cities Brugge and Gent. Additionally, you get to meet people. I’ve made many friends from the US on the trip, as well as Belgian and other foreign friends that I still keep in touch with. You never know who might be at your race as Belgium is the heart of world cycling…former pro tour riders have been known to be at the races watching. Will Richter a three time Vertex Cycling participant and member of the Hincapie Racing Team

Tim gave me the opportunity to compete against the best. I came back to the US with a lot more confidence. Belgium taught me to never give up and to always give it my all. The trip also showed me how other people around the world live. It was a great life experience that I will never forget.Richard Rainville a two time Vertex Cycling participant

So if you’ve ever considered racing in Belgium, want to learn all that you possibly can on and off the bike, and improve your racing then we highly suggest that you check out next years European Racing Trips. You won’t be disappointed, oh and parents if you’re looking for a great Christmas gift idea we’re sure one of these trips this would make you parent of the year!
